In her time as a prosecutor, Jennifer Wexton made a career out of offering plea bargains to the most dangerous criminals in Virginia, leading to her reputation as being “soft” on crime.
During a case in 2004, Wexton gave a Loudoun County rapist, the perpetrator of a truly abhorrent crime, a plea deal which granted him a seriously reduced sentence behind bars. This means that Jennifer Wexton allowed a rapist to be back on the streets before he should have been, endangering Virginia communities.
While America is facing an increasingly violent society, handing out plea bargains to the most dangerous criminals is reckless and poses a grave danger to Virginia neighborhoods and families. With that in mind, voters will have to decide if they feel safe with Jennifer Wexton representing them in Congress.
