As if Washington commuters didn’t have enough obstacles in getting to the city, new tolls along the I-66 freeway are costing drivers more than $40 for the 10-mile stretch on some days, as a result of new plans supported by the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission.
To the public, NVTC member Jennifer Wexton promised to be a roadblock to higher tolls in Virginia, claiming she would work to “ban any tolling” along the I-66 route. However, in private, she was driving a different agenda.
Wexton voted for testimony that declared the NVTC “excited” to be part of this plan that included tolls along the route, which can amount to as much as $40 during a one-way trip for drivers.
Now, Jennifer Wexton is running for Congress, but with a record of taxes and massive fee hikes, she’ll be driving left of center as she goes.
