Congressman Matt Cartwright, a legislator who supports raising our taxes, has proven himself to be a tax delinquent when it comes to paying his own taxes.
Cartwright owns multiple properties across the country, including a condo in Palm Beach County, Florida, which was purchased for $520,000 and comes complete with a private waterfront, putting green, heated pools, and a 24-hour manned gate to the community, among other amenities.
He also owns a Washington, D.C., luxury condo. Records from 2014 to the first half of 2018 indicate that Cartwright has been ordered to pay more than $3,000 in penalties and interest as a result of late property tax payments on his Washington, D.C., luxury condo and a personal parking space.
In fact, in 2015, the District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue issued Cartwright a notice of delinquency that explicitly threatened to sell his property if the problem continued to go unresolved.
Matt Cartwright wants to raise taxes on the average American household, while he fails to pay his own taxes. Matt Cartwright’s elitist “do as I say, not as I do” attitude on paying taxes is more representative of the DC swamp than of Pennsylvania.
