When Congress couldn’t agree to a budget and the federal government shut down in 2013, Steven Horsford voted against funding the Veterans Administration, including critical funding for veterans’ benefits and disability payments.
While Congress has many disagreements about how to spend taxpayer dollars, funding for the Veterans Administration should be above politics. When Steven Horsford voted against legislation that would have provided funds for veterans services and benefits such as disability payments, education benefits, and home loan assistance, Horsford showed that he will put politics over veterans.
Veterans served in our Armed Forces to protect the ideals and identity of the United States, and we are forever in their debt for that sacrifice. To have a congressional candidate that would deny veterans important benefits and payments is a shame and will have voters questioning if Steven Horsford is the right individual to represent their values in the halls of Congress.
